How is Gallery Brocante different?

Every interior designer will tell you that a home without original art is boring and drab. While things like your choice of sofa and wall colour create a good base for home decor, it's things like family photos, art, and plants that can separate a nice space from a cozy and welcoming space. More importantly, these decor items should say something about the people who live in the home -- Who do they cherish? What hobbies have they got? Where in the world have they travelled?

This is why art -- and specifically original art -- is so important in transforming a house into a home. Art means many things to many people and ultimately art is a communication tool used by the artist to share their worldview, but it can also say a lot about the people who own and display the art. But art -- and specifically original art -- can be intimidating. Often, people think original art is for wealthy people who are snobby and pretentious, and they wouldn't be wrong in many cases considering a banana duct taped to a wall sold for USD 6.2 million earlier in 2024.

So how is Gallery Brocante any different than every other art gallery out there?

Well, we don't have a physical gallery, for one -- we're purely an online shop, shipping out of Toronto, Canada. Also, we don't represent any specific artists or hold exhibitions because all of the art we sell is sourced from antique shops, flea markets, and yard sales. We travel the world in search of great quality, pre-loved artworks, curating only pieces that are one-offs (i.e., original) or limited reproductions (i.e., numbered prints).

And since our goal is to help you find art that communicates who you are rather than show off how much money you can spend, going the vintage route for original art is the perfect way to find unique pieces that are affordable.

Let Gallery Brocante help you create a home you love and can proudly invite your loved ones into.
