Understanding Your Purchase

Our artworks are from second-hand sources so expect some "wear and tear".

Gallery Brocante sources its artworks from a variety of vintage and resale marketplaces, flea markets, and even yard sales. All art sold on this site were previously owned and enjoyed by other art lovers and most will therefore show some wear and tear. We do our best to show and describe any existing damage in the listing and it is up to the buyer whether they can accept the condition the artwork is in (we think it adds to the character of the artwork, but maybe that's just us).

All sales are "as is" and final.

As these are second-hand items that often already have a bit of wear and tear, all artworks purchased from this site are sold in "as is" condition and are final sales with no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied. In rare circumstances and at Gallery Brocante's discretion, we may agree to issue a partial or full refund when an artwork is returned within 30 days of purchase.

We specialize in curating original and limited edition artworks, so far as we know at the time of acquisition.

Gallery Brocante does the hard work of researching, sorting through, and curating original and limited edition works with character and interesting stories behind them. We do most of our research using publicly available information. In some cases, we have the pleasure and privilege of a conversation with the vendors whom we buy from, when they may share more details about the artists and/or the artworks. In turn, we believe it is our responsibility to communicate everything we know and that we believe is relevant to our customers to make informed purchase decisions. And while we do as much research as we can, we ultimately have no means to verify an artwork's provenance or guarantee its originality or authenticity.

Gallery Brocante cannot appraise art.

Gallery Brocante does not value or appraise art and our pricing does not necessarily represent or imply any investment value, future value, or market value.

Gallery Brocante does not repair art.

It's just not something we do since the repair and restoration of art is a highly specialized field of work.

Cost of shipping and (highly recommended) insurance is up to the buyer.

Gallery Brocante primarily uses Canada Post or UPS to ship artworks to its customers, whichever is more cost effective. The cost to ship artworks is variable and dependent on the size and weight of the artwork. We encourage you to use Canada Post's and UPS's online tools to get a ball-park idea of shipping costs and delivery timeframes with the information provided in the listing before you purchase. All items are shipped from Toronto, Canada.

We will share more accurate shipping quotes post-purchase and will offer a full refund if you ultimately decide you do not want to pay for shipping costs. Alternatively, if you have a preferred service, we are happy to work with you to arrange logistics.

Please refer to our Shipping FAQs for more information.

For now, Canadian customers only.

Currently, Gallery Brocante only sells and ships to customers located in Canada. We do not sell or ship outside of Canada.
