Evaluating Condition of an Artwork
All of our artworks are second- (maybe even third!) hand, acquired from a variety of vintage marketplaces, flea markets, and yard sales. As a result, the condition of the artworks are variable and we do our best to represent this in our listings. We have used our best (albeit subjective) judgment based on our experience to highlight the important features or concerns of our customers, but cannot be sure of what might be most important to you. We encourage you to study the photographs provided carefully, and we can, on a case-by-case basis, offer additional photos or videos of the artwork if you have specific concerns you would like to study more closely before purchase.
We evaluate the condition of artworks using the following terms and definitions.
Mint | Like new |
Excellent | Used, with no obvious imperfections |
Very Good | Minimal wear and tear; some clean up might be needed |
Good | Some wear and tear typical for its age; optional repairs may be needed |
Fair | Some damage; repairs may be needed |
Fragile | Extensive damage; handle with extra care |
